Some photos and movie on Aug. 27

I have just been to the nearest station from my home with my son.  And took some photo and movie.  First, I went to Shin-Koshigaya station on Tobu Isesaki line.

Below is Tobu 30000 Series train.  This shows it bounds for Ota but this train was announced to be terminated at Tatebayashi station on the way as there was an accident between Ota and Tatebayashi so the route is cancelled.

Below is 2 trains coming together to Shin-Koshigaya station.  Tobu 10030 series section semi-express for Asakusa on the right and Tokyo Metro 03 series train is local bounds for Naka-Meguro.

3rd photo is same Tokyo Metro 03 series car arrived at Shin-Koshigaya station.

I will be uploading movies on my YouTube channel later.

Train show

I went to "Model Train Contest 2013", which was held at Tokyo Big Site on Saturday with my sons.  This contest is for those high school students to compete their DIY model train or layout.  Their creation is very impressive and unique.  Below are some photos from the scene.

Kato is displaying some of their products.  Below is the JR East's E2 series Shinkansen with "Suica Penguin" design.

Layout is ready

I have completed building own N scale model railroad layout.  I had number of rails but always just assemble them to make layout each time I play my model trains with my kids.  Now, it is somehow time consuming to everytime assembling and disassembling rails.  So I have just tried to make fixed layout so that I can easily start playing with those trains.

Here is the overview.  It is double track layout with slope and a truss bridge.  I have nailed or fixed using double-sided tape those rails or piers on plastic board.

This layout is made from 3 modules.  The dimension is about 2.3 meters by 0.9 meters.

Introducing some

Below is the some of the N scale model trains which I have.

Left: Tobu 200 series limited express train "Ryomo"
This is MicroAce A-2652.  This train has a sticker on the front of the car.  It is a message to encourage people recovering from Tsunami disaster on March 11, 2011.  This train is operated at Tobu Isesaki line.  Of course I see this everyday basis.  While the other limited express train "Spacia" is bounded for Nikko or Kinugawa direction, this "Ryomo" going to other area like Isesaki, Akagi or other.

Middle: JR Kyushu 787 series limited express train "Relay Tsubame"
This model train is KATO 10-237.  This "Relay Tsubame" was in operation before Kyushu Shinkansen is in full operation from Hakata to Kagoshima-Chuo in 2011.  This train was in operation between Hakata to Shin-Yatsushiro.

Right: JR Kyushu 885 series limited express "Tsubame"
This model train is KATO 10-410.  This train is mainly used at Tsubame and in operation between Hakata to Nagasaki.

Maybe I should get not only but some video which those trains are running on rail....  Let me try and will share it once ready.

Today's first photo...

Tobu series 20050 is on left and Tobu series 10030 is on right.  Just took when going to work.  This Tobu Isesaki line at the nearest station from my house is having quad track to handle more trains.  Left track is for local train which stops at every station while the right track is for express train which stops at limited stations.  Left one, of course the only train I can get on board, is bound for Naka-Meguro, which is the final destination on Tokyo Metro Hibiya line.  The train on the right is "Section Semi-Express" bound for Kita-Senju.

On the afternoon, I moved to Kawasaki for my work.  And took some as well at Kawasaki station after work.

This is JR East's series 205.  This is Nambu line which is operated between Kawasaki and Tachikawa.  This train is bound for Noborito.

Limited express "Super View Odoriko".  This train is JR East's series 251model and mainly operating between Tokyo and Izukyu-Shimoda.

This is series E231on Tokaido line.

Same Tokaido line but this is series E233

This blue colored train is Keihin-Tohoku line.  Train model is series E233.

2nd post

Just took a photo when going to work.
I use Tobu Isesaki line, Tokyo Metro Hibiya line and JR Yamanote line for commuting.
The train on the photo is Tobu series 20050.  This is mainly used for local train as most of local train operates through to Tokyo Metro Hibiya line.

This train is operated with 8 cars.  However length of each car is 18 meters, which is a bit shorter than many of standard train with 20 meters length.  The label "5 Doors" means 4 out of 8 cars having 5 doors per side while others (normal configuration) only have 3 doors per side.  This is to speeding up boarding and unboarding during rush hour.

Hello World

Hi,

I just now start first posting on my new blog.
The reason I started this blog is to share my collection of model trains.  Also I may be posting some photos or whatever which may relate with model railroad or actual railroad matter.

Let me briefly explain about myself.  I am not a long time model railroad player.  I have recently started about few months ago.  As a father of 3 sons, there are some train toys like Pla-Rail in my house already, which is the most popular train toy in Japan.  Now my first son is growing up and Pla-Rail is not enough for him because it is designed mainly for small kids.  So I have recently started to have some N scale model trains.  I now have standard N scale model along with B-Train shorty, which is more smaller but still run on N scale track.

The train on the photo is the most recent rolling stock which I purchased.  This is Tobu Railway's series 100 or it is called by its train name "Spacia".  Spacia is limited express train running between Asakusa to either Tobu-Nikko or Kinugawa-Onsen direction, further up to Shin-Fujiwara.  As I live along with this Tobu Isesaki Line and use for everyday commute, of course I see this train everyday.  However, I've never gotten on board....

Oh, by the way this model train is from TOMIX and model number is 92783.  Current actual train in operation having different painting.  I'd share it if I could take photo.

Anyway, I will try to keep this blog updated as much and hope you enjoy.
